
Onion is your friend!
If you are with a cold, coughing, etc… then you definitely have to go shopping for some onions!
Yes, they are so good for our health, a real blessing!
For the kids, when they can’t breathe well by night and can’t sleep because of the cough, you can help!
Just cut an onion in half and put it raw in a bowl, just under the bed of your sick child, OK, it doesn’t smell very good but it is very efficient!
And you can also be prepared, in these times of cold weather and snow, you can do your own ONION SYRUP, it is easy and will be a big help for quick recuperation from a bad cold!
Here is my recipe:
You will need:
- 1 big onion
- 1 tsp sugar
- 1/4 cup butter (half stick)
- 2 cups honey (better if natural and raw)
How to:
You have to cut the onion in very thin slices, and cook it with the butter and sugar at VERY LOW heat, so it doesn’t get brown but transparent.
When it is done, you have to put it in the honey in a well closed jar, and let it soak for 2 days in a cool place.
Then you will have to take out the onion, by pouring the honey through a clean cloth, and put it again in a clean, sterilized jar.
For a quick healing, take a small spoon 3 times a day. As a preventive for a good health, take one small spoon each morning.
